The Wattled Crane is a majestic wetland bird, now endangered. It is one of 3 cranes found in South Africa. Their breeding habits are rather unusual and delicate, so to help increase their numbers in the wild gentle methods to encourage breeding in captivity for release need to be implemented. In Nottingham Road, KZN Midlands at the Usher Conservation centre, a facility for breeding has been built.
