'We are an independent school providing quality education to young children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the villages surrounding Howick region, within the Province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. We are a registered non-profit organisation catering for over 300 children from grades RRR through to grade 7, covering ages 4 to 14.
Thembelihle is the only independent primary school that provides vulnerable children access to a world-class education through our unique, holistic, Christian, values-based approach to teaching and learning."
The Tree is based on an Erythrina Lysistemon - common in KZN and special to the Zulu people. Wonderful red flowers and a distinctive leaf shape. With red seeds known to children as as lucky beans. Read more about this Erythrina and the Zulu culture.
