Swazi King Maquette
The story goes that one of the Early Swazi Kings – King Sobhuza 1 (Somhlolo) 1815-1836 – had a vision where white men were to visit the Swazi shores. He was advised in this vision for the Swazi nation to choose “Umculu” (book) rather than “Indilinga” (money) in the encounter with the white men.
This is a maquette (study) for a proposed 3.5m high version that you can see here. The maquette gives the client an opportunity to approve the 3D work on a small scale before it is scaled up to the final size. It can be cast into Bronze or usually remains in wax until the final work has been created.

Most sculptures are produced in limited editions. Availability may vary, as works are cast in small batches based on demand and foundry scheduling. As a result, a sculpture may not be immediately available—it may still be in the casting process, awaiting finishing in my studio, or available through a gallery.
