This sculpture merges human with nature. We are one and the same, part of the natural ebb and flow of creation and decay. Just as a forest is fed by the decaying leaves and trees, the great circle of life.
I am interested in the merging or reconnecting humankind with nature – with the wilder parts of the world. We are so engrossed in the safety of ‘indoors’, that we are begining to forget and fear the wild, and the creatures that we don’t understand. This makes it easier to forget the wild places, and we are not protecting them enough. We think a farm is wild, but it has been controlled, poisoned and changed. Where are the real wild places, what is our real wild nature?
This sculpture was made from panels of wax, made from the imprints of nature; trees, forest floor, and other natural textures. If you look closely you will identify these textures. The panels are pushed gently into a mould of a figure, then cast into bronze.

Most sculptures are produced in limited editions. Availability may vary, as works are cast in small batches based on demand and foundry scheduling. As a result, a sculpture may not be immediately available—it may still be in the casting process, awaiting finishing in my studio, or available through a gallery.
