I always find myself smiling when I see a Sunbird and so think on them as happy birds – and especially this species with its orange-yellow belly and shiny green head. They move with such speed from flower to flower, cheeping as they go, with the males glistening in the sun. This little bird is often seen darting from one flowery plant to the next in the Fynbos floral kingdom of the Cape.
