Although Bronze is the best medium for a portrait bust to be cast into, there is another option; Concrete. It will last a very long time outside, being weather resistant. It is also less likely to be stolen, as concrete has no value in itself. It is brittle and can be chipped, but can also be mended quite easily. It can get fine hair-line cracks on the surface but this should not effect the overall strength and longevity of the Bust. So concrete is an ideal alternative to Bronze for Tombstone busts and sculptures.
