Sardine Run Mural

This smaller sculpture was created for a private house on the South Coast of KZN, inspired by the mural I made in 2014, ‘The Mass of Men – Sardine Run’, at the KZN King Sharka airport.

The sardine run, happening close to the shores along the coast, usually takes place during the winter months of June/July. The fish move in a great flurry of energy from the colder waters in the South, to the warmer waters further North, along the KZN shores.  This brings dolphins, sharks, hunting fish, birds and humans to take part in a feeding frenzy.
